Chill the F out (a holiday lesson)
This week in my singing class, I ran into resistance around a high note… again. It’s like my vocal cords completely tighten up and won’t let the sound out with ease. I even noticed something new: I subtly change the pitch to reach it another way… a workaround I’ve been using for years without realizing it. What I love about my teacher is that she names the truth every time: That I’m scared, and fear is holding me back. It’s not always easy to hear, but I love her for pointing

Have you said thank you yet?

(Not exactly the vibe for a thriving gut.) And when that becomes the background noise in your home, car, and mind…

I wish I’d done this sooner… Her story says it better than I can
I wish I’d done this sooner. I hear this all the time, people telling me they wish they’d started their healing journey earlier. Saved the headaches. Saved the years of feeling tired, sick, or quietly hopeless. Saved the parts of their life they couldn’t fully enjoy because their body didn’t feel good to live in. And honestly? I feel the same. I wish I’d known how to work with my body instead of against it long before med school. I often think about how different things might
